Room to Play works with local, professionally trained artists to create awesome, intimate spectacles in theatre. This initiative calls on the richness and diversity of local performers.
Room To Play Productions
WHY THEATRE? WHY NOW?
Enlivened by the senses, existing deeply in the moment, witnessing transformation in real time, breathing, laughing or even crying with the audience that shares our space is uniquely the realm of performance art. In a world deep in digital with options to scroll and swipe right as a default response, the experience of theatre is exceptional. We strive to embody the poetry of the soul, the expression of a story told through humans in action.
DEAR AUDIENCE
The sweat is real. The risk is real. To fail in front of you, our audience, is frightening. To celebrate with you, our audience, is joyous. We know we are only complete with your presence. Relationships are everything to us. Collaboration is our alchemy.
From the moment you get dressed, enter a foyer, have a drink, hear the music (or silence) and clap with the actors we know that the experience has been our shared journey and we are all the richer for it. Theatre is as ephemeral as life itself. Room to Play lean into this fleeting space with passion and purpose, knowing that we leave a mark on all that gather.
